Need Help Picking a Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb?
Compact fluorescent (CF) light bulbs have become more widely available in the last few years. More people know about the benefits of these energy efficient light bulbs. The higher cost of CF bulbs (compared to incandescent) is offset by reduced electricity costs and a longer bulb life.
Many people might try a compact fluorescent bulb, but aren't sure just which ones will work in their light fixtures. Environmental Defense has a section on how to choose a compact fluorescent bulb, complete with links to sources for the bulbs. You select the type of light fixture, bulb shape and other features and get a list of bulbs that satisfy your requirements. Be sure to read the basic information on picking a CF bulb.
Recycling is the best way to dispose of compact fluorescent bulbs. Find a recycling location near you:
- Visit the Earth 911 and use the green search box at the top of the page.
- Call 1-800-CLEAN-UP for an automated hotline.
If you can't find recycling center that accepts CF bulbs, Sylvania will recycle all brands of CF products.
